Desert to the WestAs we headed down the road, father and I traveled towards the unreachable deserts of the west. It was like driving into a different world, the roads were empty, the vast expanse of desert was baron and lifeless. The only features were the distant mountains to the north of use, to the south, there was nothing but flat desert. I tried my hardest to think of something to do while father was driving. He was always such a good driver, he could drive for days and nights and not need rest. I always wondered if I could do the same when I got to be his age.
